Bicoastal PR Firm demonstrates the value of pro bono service by helping local youth-mentoring organization
Ventura County’s premier marketing agency Marketing Maven Public Relations invests its pro-bono marketing and design services capital in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County Benefit Concert Featuring British Invasion Band Herman’s Hermits.
This pro bono partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County provides special event branding, promotional print and advertising collateral for the top- ranked youth mentoring organization and its annual Benefit Concert.
“We are honored that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County has allowed us to work so closely with them in an effort to help children realize their potential and build their future,” said Lindsey Carnett, CEO and President of Marketing Maven Public Relations. “The Marketing Maven Public Relations team firmly believes in the importance of giving back and that it is our social responsibility as a small business to promote our county’s organizations.”
The graphic design project headed by Marketing Maven Public Relations’ Graphic Designer, Carly Boulier, included the creation of event invitations, post cards, concert icon, digital newsletters, marquee banner for the event and advertisements for the numerous media outlets throughout Ventura County and neighboring communities. “We hope our efforts will help raise awareness about the organizations, its goals, and fundraising opportunities,” said Boulier.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters Benefit Concert to be held at the Fred Kavli Theatre in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza on Sunday, January 13, 2013 presents a musical evening with Herman’s Hermits, starring Peter Noone. Comedic talent Louis Ashamallah will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. Doors for the Benefit Concert open at 6:00 PM with a 6:30PM show time. About Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, holds itself accountable for children in its program to achieve measurable outcomes, such as educational success; avoidance of risky behaviors; and higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships. Partnering with parents/guardians, schools, corporations and others in the community, Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully pairs children (“Littles”) with screened volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) and monitors and supports these one-to-one mentoring matches throughout their course. The first-ever Big Brothers Big Sisters Youth Outcomes Summary, released in 2012, substantiates that its mentoring programs have proven, positive academic, socio-emotional and behavioral outcomes for youth, areas linked to high school graduation, avoidance of juvenile delinquency and college or job readiness.
Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children facing adversity, often those of single or low-income households or families where a parent is incarcerated or serving in the military, with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. This mission has been the cornerstone of the organization’s 100-year history. With about 350 agencies across the country, Big Brothers Big Sisters serves nearly 630,000 children, volunteers and families.
