Panel to Discuss Inner Workings and Behind the Scenes Success of Iconic Metropolitan Team
Experts and businesswomen will gather at the landmark Staples Center on April 3, 2013 from 5:30PM to 10:00PM Pacific Time to discuss the business of sports and events with key Clippers speakers.
“Sports business has become such a diverse field both on and off the court, and we are honored to have the opportunity to share a look inside the Clippers Organization,” said Joe Safety, Vice President of Communications.
The April Power Night panel held from 5:30PM to 6:30PM with key Clippers Speakers will focus on changing trends, business operations, fan engagement and other defining aspects of sports business as one of many annual panels held by WISE Los Angeles. These panels are part of WISE Los Angeles’ ongoing effort to provide educational and inspirational resources for professional women in the business of sports and events.

The WISE Los Angeles April Power Night Panel featured speakers will include Joe Safety, VP of Communications, Ashley Hall, Director of Group Sales and Ticket Analytics, Joe Kelly, Director of Fan Relations and Services, Urel Martinez, Director of Ticket Sales, Amy Girgis-Abadir, Corporate Sponsorship Sales and Executive and Alexandra Novak, Account Executive.
Named the youngest Public Relations Director in Major League Baseball, Joe Safety took his expertise from the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees to formal public relations firms before returning to professional sports with the Los Angeles Clippers in 1993.
Hall, Director of Group Sales and Ticket Analytics, is an alumna of La Verne and received her graduate degree from Pepperdine. Hall transitioned her career from restaurant management to sports, and got her start with a minor league baseball team.
Kelly, an alumnus form University of Memphis, shares WISE Los Angeles’ passion for sports. Kelly founded the fan relationships department at the Los Angeles Clippers.
Martinez, a graduate from UC Irvine, understands the business from the ground up. Martinez began his career at the Clippers as an Inside Sales Executive and worked his way up throughout the organization. Martinez is currently the Director of Ticket Sales.
Sponsorship Sales and Executive Girgis-Abadir is a graduate of Cal Fullerton. Giris-Abadir started her career in ticket sales, and quickly leveraged her marketing and sales experience to her current position in sponsorship.
Account Executive, Novak, pursued her passion for sports with a Masters Degree in Sports Management and Athletic Administration from Indiana University. Her role with the Los Angeles Clippers helps cement their role as game-winning champions as she spreads awareness about the team and it’s members.
After the panel, guests will have the opportunity to network during a cocktail hour at 6:30PM until the start of the Clippers Game at 7:30PM.
